Massachusetts tap forms4/13/2023 Two residents familiar with the District’s educational mission and the function of educational facilities will be appointed by the Longmeadow School Committee and two residents with experience in architecture, engineering and/or construction will be appointed by the Longmeadow Select Board. Upon completion of these requirements the District would be considered for an invitation into the Feasibility Study phase of the MSBA capital pipeline. In the current 270-day Eligibility Period, the District will work with the MSBA to fulfill several requirements including forming a building committee, completing a district enrollment study, and executing an agreement to complete a feasibility study. In March 2022, the MSBA invited Longmeadow into a grant program to address the pressing physical plant needs of Glenbrook and Williams Middle Schools. The SBC will work under the requirements of the MA School Building Authority (MSBA), a state agency that administers a competitive grant program to support and co-fund the design and construction of educationally appropriate and cost-effective public school facilities. The Longmeadow School Committee and Longmeadow Select Board are inviting residents to apply to serve on a School Building Committee (SBC), responsible for monitoring and advising the Town of Longmeadow and the School Committee during the application, design and construction phases of an approved middle school building project. Community members unable to attend will also have the opportunity to view an upcoming panel discussion that will be aired on Longmeadow Community Television.Īttendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the condition of the two Middle Schools and the District’s strategic approach to addressing these needs through a partnership with the MA School Building Authority (MSBA). in the large LPS District Office Conference Room located at 535 Bliss Road, Longmeadow and on Wednesday, September 21 at 10:00 a.m., also in the District conference room. at the Williams Middle School auditorium, Friday, September 16 at 10:00 a.m. Public Forums will be held on Thursday, September 8 at 7 p.m. Longmeadow Public Schools will be hosting interactive informational sessions for members of the general public to learn more about the facility-related needs of Glenbrook and Williams Middle Schools.
